Chess set is made from solid Walnut and Maple. Griffin shield is Purpleheart with Maple griffin, and the dragon banner is Yellowheart with Katalox support bar, and Walnut for the dragon. Set is 26 inches square and 5.5 inches tall with soft close heavy duty drawer slides. Chess pieces are solid Walnut and Maple and range 4.25 inches tall (King) to 2.75 inches tall (Pawn). Playing surface and pieces are in line with USA and International chess standards. Custom fit dense foam for secure piece retention in drawers. Set and pieces are sealed with Tung Oil and varnish, and conditioned with bees wax and orange oil conditioner. No stains or paints are used in this piece.
